Not Just Bad, Historically Bad

Over the past 27 years, Virginia's two worst performances in terms of total yards have come in the last two games.
To sum up...
110 yards in total offense yesterday
7 rushing yards on 17 attempts
Wyoming ran almost twice as many offensive plays (88) as Virginia (46)
UVa managed 5 first downs. Putrid.
The Hoos have now gone 10 plus quarters without scoring a touchdown. Pitiful.
We're now 10-24 on the road under Groh. Horrendous.
Lalich's redshirt was needlessly burned. Maddening.
Groh once again shows contempt for the loyal Hoos fan base. Insulting.
You almost have to give Groh and Groh credit. It didn't seem possible for the offense to actually look worse than last year... but somehow they did it.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

Not to say that lousy execution didn't have a lot to do with the loss, but I was dumbfounded by Groh's comments on how playing at 7,000 feet affected some people but not others, sort of like some people getting seasick on a boat. Excuse me? Some people aren't affected when there's 20% less oxygen in the air? Maybe if they're mountain goats. And, of course, we didn't have any oxygen on the sidelines.
I spent a few weeks on the Kenyan plateau when I was 21 and in arguably the best shape of my life. I can tell you from experience, you feel fine until you break a sweat and you immediately wonder how you could get so out of shape so fast.
I'm not saying we would have won if we'd played in C'Ville (yeah, we were that bad), but maybe we would've had more than 5 first downs. Yeesh.

And my point--which I guess I lost sight of--is that Groh could have done a LITTLE more planning for playing at a high altitude. Sewell said his arm felt "dead" during the game. Yah think?
